We screen every client, and withhold services from people who are not qualified (or good candidates) for colon cleansing. National Board for Colon Hydrotherapy (NBCHT) is a nationally recognized body formed to set competency standards for those who practice colon hydrotherapy. It accomplishes its mission by establishing and maintaining a recognized and credible certification program that evaluates the competency of the practitioners.
The NBCHT was established in 2000 by the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT,) a voluntary, not-for-profit organization. A group of therapists recognized the need to formulate the training and credentialing of the who perform colon hydrotherapy.
The NBCHT, through its founding body I-Act, is a member of the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA). In an effort to maintain the quality and the integrity of the certification program, the NBCHT is seeking program accreditation with the accrediting arm of the NOCA, the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) a recognized leader in the accreditation field.
