Gout & The Ionic Foot Spa
By Derek Pinder, MD.
If you or your loved one is suffering from the painful condition of gout, relief may be as near as your big
Gout is a variation of arthritus and rheumatism. What really happens is Uric Acid builds up to high levels in the
joints, causing painful inflammation and joint pain. This conditon is usually exacerbated by a large intake of
alcohol, red meat, and acid forming foods. This build up happens over the years, and with most individuals the
swelling of the big toe is perhaps the first indication of an elevated Uric Acid count.
Over the years. we've seen cases of gout. After trying many pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter products, we
have found that what brings the greatest relief is placing the feet in the ionic foot spa with the hottest possible
water the body can stand.
Keep your feet in the ionic foot bath for 16 - 20 minutes, but not longer. If possible, get the ionic foot bath at
least once or twice a day, until your condition improves.
After doing the initial spa treatment, you should drink some fresh cherry drink. Make it with "Tart Cherry Syrup"
(preferrably organic) from your local health food store. Take two tablespoons in a glass of water and drink it.
Drink it at least 2-3 times a day.
Another useful remedy for gout is DMSO. Rub some 1 -2 drops of DMSO on your swollen toe. You might be able to
find DMSO at a local store that sells horse supplies, as the ointment is commonly used for arthritus in horses.
